Duchamp established these 14 Readymades as his most "important" Readymades when he issued them in 'replicas in editions of eight' through Arturo Schwartz's Galleria Schwarz, Milan in 1964.
These eight pieces strictly follow the criteria outlined in the Introduction.
They are the Readymade in its simplest or "purest" form.
They keep to Duchamp's original ideas of signing and dating.
These six Readymades were all reproduced in editions of eight in 1964
and almost universally acknowledged as Readymades.
However, these Readymades do not follow the criteria
as closely as the above Pure Readymades
